Sharing sPlanner data between Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 and Samsung Galaxy S4

For almost a year I have used sPlanner on both my Samsung Galaxy devices. I used my Note 10.1 as the master calendar and then used Kies 2 every few days to

I've been trying various ways round the problem above without any success including use of Smart Switch. This software had been rather flaky before but I noticed on my S4 there was an update to Smart Switch that I installed.
I have just utilised this software to overcome the problem highlighted in my previous post. However, I am leaving it posted just in case anybody else encounters a similar problem.
