She Floats!!!

I don't recall this being listed as a feature but the SR floats!!! How do I know? Well, about mid stream, yes browsing the internet and relieving myself, the slippery fish that is the SR, jumped out of my hand and directly into the toilet...in slow motion no less. As it torpedoed the surface of the yellow sea, it quickly gained control of the situation and became boyant floating toward the surface, as if doing the back stroke. In horror, not thinking twice about plumging my hand into the bowl (it was my bowl after all and only a number 1), I grabbed my i727 and quickly ushered the device to a towel on the countertop. I quickly removed the battery cover and began inspecting for water intrusion. Compressed air can helped remove moister from the edge of the phone, mini USB and head phone Jack. Long story short, the SR is one air tight device. I'm not sure if Samsung was hedging for potential submersion but it sure looks like it. No damage that I can tell and its been 24 hours since the swim. Speakers and buttons all operable. I've learned a lesson...no urinating and web browsing with a slippery phone...I just need my pop case to show up and I can multi task with a good grip!

I also believe in multitasking by the toilet, so it made me a little sad to see no one comment on your story. Turning a one liner into an amusing story is something I could see more of.
Currently I use an iphone, but in the near future I'll be making the switch to the SR to make use of the houston lte market. I personally haven't bathed this phone in any liquids, but I know our pool has had the taste of an iphone twice before. Unfortunately if someone is unwilling to jump in after it they have to run and get the net to save their phone. A floating phone, if only temporarily, would be a great boon in these cases. The amount of time water has to get in is drastically shortened.
Even if there is a funky smell from your phone, just remember that most toilets are usually cleaner than our smart phones in terms of germs and bacteria. ;)

I cant believe this thread didn't get any replies. I definitley LOL'd at your story. I've dropped my fair share of phones into different bodies of water. A few toilets, a couple of puddles, once I had a phone fall directly into a large cup of tea. Usually they break, or act funny for a very long time.

To hear that my SR might float for a few seconds is reassuring for a clumsy dude like myself.

Hahah, glad the phone is still working!
I learned my lesson a few years ago. I never take anything important anywhere near the toilet anymore.
A few years ago I was crusing Sunset Blvd on my motorcycle. I stopped at a gas station to urinate. There I was (standing) with my key case clutched in my teeth. As I leaned over to flush, I accidentally let go of the key case just as I flushed. To my horror, the key case went right into the swirling pool of water and right down the drain.
It only got worse because it caused some sort of clog and the next thing I knew the toilet was overflowing and water went all over the floor.

I had to take a taxi home and it wasn't till the next day that the plumbers were able to unplug the drain pipe and recover my keys.
I have a 2' rule for important stuff now. Nothing but myself and a magazine gets anywhere near the toilet anymore.
