shoddy browsing experience now (ics) blurry text

I am SO pissed, I was so excited about the upgrade but it's completely ruined the browser!!! Zooming is now a miserable experience, I can't STAND how long it takes to deblur when double tapping now. :( Visually, it's totally degraded! When zoomed completely out, text was crystal clear on GB-- now, on ICS, there's a noticeable difference in clarity when zoomed out, as well.

Totally disgusted :(

Sidenote, I've loved many other features of the upgrade, they just f**ked up the browser. Heads up, Nova Launcher is an AMAZING home screen replacement for ICS (which I was forced to install since apparently, stock ICS decided to give a big eff you to those of us who prefer a vertically scrolling app drawer and took the option out).

Are you using the default browser? You might see if an alternate browser gives you a better experience. A lot of people like Dolphin, there's also chrome and opera mini to name but a few.

...I don't want to use an alternate, I want to use the default :) I have both Opera (not mini, mini is stupid on an HD phone) and Dolphin installed. But that's not the point. What worked fine before has been downgraded, and that's crappy. Which IS my point. Shouldn't an upgrade, actually UPgrade? Sharpening should be FASTER, not five times slower.

edit:

I did just try it in Dolphin, and it's the same shitty slow rendering time for it as well. This is abominable.

I just tested the default browser myself and i'm not seeing what you are saying. It's all crystal clear for me and is only blurry after zooming in for maybe a half second or less. Also, you can use chrome now which blows away all other browsers. Use chrome

Prior to the upgrade, I didnt wait for for a damn thing to render, AT ALL. A half a second is a half a second too long (it's more like 2 seconds to render, for me, and really freaking annoying, when the OLDER browser was far superior at rendering)-- my laptop doesn't open text blurry and then "fix" itself. Why the H should I be forced to live with that on a phone?? It does it to photos too, every time I swipe to the next photo in my albums...******* blurry until it renders. I get that it's only two seconds, but that's two seconds that are TOTALLY unnecessary, is the thing.

*twitch* I've tested it, in Dolphin AND Chrome, the rendering is now shitty on all browsers, not just the default like I originally thought. :( Damn.

edit:

I stand corrected-- trying it in Opera Mobile and there is NO rendering delay whatsoevet! Side by side with the default, it's a definitive difference. Too bad the stupid splash screen has to come up while opera "loads" every freaking time you try to use that browser (and I love Opera, and use it on my laptop, actually! But the splash screen is annoying as hell on the phone).

Sounds like you've got an app running in the background eating up your cpu. It's not unheard of to have an app that worked fine in GB that didn't work in ICS.

Just one more question. After your update to ICS, did you perform a factory reset? Many times inconsistencies or problems after an OTA update are from apps and settings from previous versions that will resolve after a factory reset.

The stock browser in ICS is about a 'chrome' as you can get, even better THAN Chrome.

That said, doing 'factory restore', might resolve the problem. Otherwise, using the LG or VZ tool to reflash the V7 might do the trick.

All new Razr M's now use chrome as default browser. Try that one.
The default browser in Android *IS* Chrome (so to speak)... it's based off the chromium project, but not the polished chrome browser, which is why they have the Chrome app for people that want it to look and act like desktop Chrome.

I've tested the two and stock ics browser usually performs better than Chrome.
