The issue is most people using smartphones are not like us. They aren't intelligent enough to even read the blurb about the app and make conscious decisions. These are the people who are going to get decimated by malware and then complain to google for allowing them to install a Russian ringtone app that asks for permissions to your entire contact list, bank account # and the ability to make calls and launch missiles.
They should have stuck to a stock iphone, or even just someone give them a Solo cup with a string on the end and tell them its an iphone.
