Help Should a Desire S come with a screen protector... Is this a screen protector?

Hi guys,

Should a new Desire S come standard with a screen protector attached? I've noticed a kind of extra film on top of the screen that ends just above the HTC logo and just under the body. When I touch it with my finger, it feels really strong though, really tough, glassy, as though it won't peel off. Is this supposed to be there? Does the Desire S ship standard with this? Not sure what it is.

I've attached a screenshot. Would really appreciate it if you could take a look. If you look at the HTC logo, you can see a thin line that runs above it and to both sides, along just under the body and swinging down on the left under the black glass. That's this film I've noticed.

Mine did not, however it did have a thin protective screen covering which many new handsets have to keep them clean and dust free when they are shipped. It may be that which you are seeing. It is mainly to have the glass pristine when you open the box.

Does this guarantee it won`t get scratched ?
I do a lot of work on building sites and my old Wildfire screen got mullered

i guess you are right , anyways i am using a screen protector over screen as precaution and having absolutely no problem..
