I'm able to get an upgrade through Verizon on December 5th. I currently have a Microsoft KIN 1, so I definitely need an upgrade. I want to get my first smartphone. I've been using phones with keyboards since 2007, so I don't want to be without. The Samsung Stratosphere really grabbed my attention. I love the keyboard, and with all the features it has, I think it'll be great as my first smartphone. However, they just came out with Stratosphere II. I can't really afford to get it right now. I already ordered 2 phone cases and screen protectors for the first one anyway. My question is, are there really a lot of problems with the first one right now? I'm seeing a lot of issues on this forum and it is worrying me. Should I still get it, or wait until II goes down in price and get that instead? If I get the II, then I'll have to sell the cases since they won't fit (camera lens are in different areas). Thank you.

My youngest daughter has one. Only issue is memory (not enough!) Get a 16GB card. Very nice phone. She begged for the iPhone. I wasn't paying for it. She had the money from Chanukah. Was going to get iPhone, but realized every gift she would be getting in future would need to be iTunes gift cards, for music!
Showed her in the store how I downloaded via an app. Loved that and keyboard. Has Stratosphere since last October. Was free with plan, she also got 4 GB for price of 2. Sturdy little phone! Beautiful pictures and sound. I personally would wait for Strat 2. May have deals with plan, since you font have plan now. But.....I don't think you will regret phone at all.

Wait for the strat 2, or get the spectrum. The stratosphere doesn't run ice cream sandwich.
Thank you. I know the Stratosphere only runs Gingerbread, but is it really so bad? Of course, it's outdated. But do updates cause the phone to have issues or something? I'll be fine with using an old OS if there aren't any problems. On the other hand, would I be able to sell my cases on here if I do get the Strat 2? (I think I got too excited about getting a new phone and moved too fast!)
The Spectrum looks good. I've had LG phones in the past and never had any problems with them. But it only has a virtual keyboard :/

I talked to a BB rep, and I won't be able to upgrade early. She also didn't know how long the sale is going to last. I'll just have to look on their site and on other ones like Radio Shack on Dec. 5th. If I can get it for free then, I'll go for it. If not, I'll go for the first one.
