Should I root my LG Motion?

Am really scared am going to mess up my phone or is going to slow it down. I jailbroken an iPad before but is really easy and android looks more complicated. What are the pros and cons of rooting?

Greenpoison, i rooted my phone yesterday and was reading pros and cons from google pages. One Pro that really caught my eye was network unlock ( using any carrier on a unlocked device ) . So instantly rooted, its easy & phone still works better than ever. But as i was reading afterwards i rooted my phone i seen that the LG Motion was a CDMA phone , not a GSM. Now i dont know if the LG Motion 4G can be used on any network or not. Another pro is you can edit/delete any file in your android registry.

ie: Deleted bloatware that comes with the device when bought.

But other than that im still learninf myself. But i would say dont be scared, i Enjoyed rooting my phone and looking to learn alot more.

The main reason I rooted is so I could downclock my CPU. I don't need to be running 1.5Ghz all the time. I really don't use root for anything else but it was easy to do, just make sure to fully read the directions if you decided to do it.

GP, I came close to rooting my Motion but never did (I'm on a Spirit now). I also did a lot of searches on the how's and why's first.

There are only 2 reasons I would have rooted. One was to disable the mindnumbing auto update reminders. There is now a way to do that at least for the Motion without rooting. The other was to enable the Volume buttons to wake the phone as my power button was a PIA with the case I was using.

I think the Motion's bootloader is still locked down so there's not so much moding you can do even after you root. Often rooting is done to be able to fix some things you can't otherwise fix. There just isn't so much really that needs fixing on a stock Motion.

I rooted mine just because, there isn't anything wrong with it and Google now is awesome (collaboration 3) if you want to do more you can wait until bootloader is unlocked so we can get better stuff. But again nothing is wrong so far(coughpowercomsumptiincough)
