Download superone click make sure you have all drivers for the phone. ALSO make sure USB debugging is on

It depends what you want from your phone do you want LGs useless 2.2 froyo and keep waiting for gingerbread ?

Or void your warrenty by rooting it and flashing a custom rom like cyangenmod

You can get your warrrenty back by unrooting and using a nandroid backup to get your old recovery image.

Answer to this if you have anymore questions :)

LG O2x | CyanogenMod

Once you've rooted it, do the following:
  1. Search for ROM Manager in the Market (free or paid) and install the app.
  2. Open the ROM Manager application and select Flash ClockworkMod Recovery.
  3. Click on LG Optimus 2X and then give the app root permission if it prompts you.
  4. If it hangs after that and freezes up, just allow the app to Force Close. Then open it back up and repeat steps 2 & 3.
  5. Once the flash was successful, you should see a dialog box that says "Successfully flashed ClockworkMod recovery!".
  6. Press OK.
  7. The ClockworkMod Recovery should now be installed on the LG Optimus 2X.

Then to flash cyanogenmod 7, make sure the latest nightly or stable zip is on your sd card (around 90mb file) and do the following:
  1. Download the latest version of CyanogenMod. Optional: Download the Google Apps for the device.
  2. Place the CyanogenMod update.zip file on the root of the SD card. Optional: Place the Google Apps .zip on the root of the SD card also.
  3. Boot into the ClockworkMod Recovery.
  4. Once the device boots into the ClockworkMod Recovery, use the side volume buttons to move around, and either the power button or the trackball to select. Optional: Select backup and restore to create a backup of current installation on the LG Optimus 2X.
  5. Select the option to Wipe data/factory reset.
  6. Then select the option to Wipe cache partition & wipe dalvik cache (advanced menu)
  7. Select Install zip from sdcard.
  8. Select Choose zip from sdcard.
  9. Select the CyanogenMod update.zip. Optional: Install the Google Apps by performing steps 7 - 9 again and choosing the Google Apps update.zip.
  10. Once the installation has finished, select +++++Go Back+++++ to get back to the main menu, and select the Reboot system now option. The LG Optimus 2X should now boot into CyanogenMod.
