Should I wait for 3D EVO or buy something outs

Since sprint has not announce the release date of the 3D EVO, I am getting sick of waiting without any kind of solid info.

I am starting to think maybe I should buy something outs.... perhaps EVO 4G.

What do you guys think?

I don't really care for 3D, but dual core sounds tempting.

Please help me decide.

I'd say jut wait for it at this point.

I'd wait, but no, I wouldn't get an EVO4G in any case. I understand about waiting (I'm just hoping my Pre doesn't crash big time before the 3D comes out), but I'm holding out anyway. But if I were to get a new (available) phone today, it would be a Nexus S 4G. I don't care for Sammy a whole lot, but with it being a Nexus, it wouldn't carry some of the excess Samsung baggage.

If you get a new Evo 4G, it's going to cost as much as the Evo 3D and lock you into the same 2-year contract.

I think it makes more sense to wait.

That's my take on it as well.

If you want the higher res screen and dual core of the Evo 3D, then I'd say wait. (i.e. if you are into gaming or want a better browser experience).

If you aren't planning to use your phone for much where those two features would provide a benefit then I'd say the Nexus S would be the next one to look at followed by the Evo 4G... which is still a solid choice.

I actually went to my local sprint store and played with Nexus S.

It felt so light and cheap....I don't think I will want to get that...

Thanks for above inputs.

more inputs are welcome.

I say just wait it out. Seriously, if you gonna be locked in a contract for the next 2 years then waiting an extra few weeks shouldn't be a big deal especially if the phone you are waiting for is gonna be better than any other phone currently available on sprint.

Only if it was few weeks, then I would not mind waiting.......

Why can't sprint just tell us the release date.....

thanks for your input though....

I don't like the Nexus S.

IF I were you, I'd buy a used Evo (lots of people are selling them in anticipation of the Evo 3D or traded for the Nexus S - fools ha!! ;) ), activate it, have NO contract, still keep your upgrade.

And then when the Evo 3D, or the Galaxy S2 (my fav) comes out, use the upgrade for either phone, and sell the Evo 4G, or keep it as back up.

That's what I'd do. You keep your options open, AND you get to play with a new toy right now.

Seriously, Sprint is offering people $150 for their used Evo, and some people are actually going to take Sprint up on that offer...:eek:

Wait for the Samsung Galaxy S and the Photon 4G to be released, prior to making a decision. If it's a matter of needing a phone that works NOW, then the EVO 4G, Nexus S, the EPIC 4G or the EVO Shift would all be good alternatives.

Only issue, if you get any of those phones is that if you could've afforded to wait until the end of August when majority of the new devices should be released and available, then you'll be wondering why you didn't just hold out and be patient for them.

Just my $.02, cuz ultimately you are the only one that knows what's best for your situation.

Id wait if I was you but the waiting for a date is getting ridiclious but me Im getting bored with my Evo so Im not gonna sell it just yet Im gonna go to BB and get the epic its free right now so why not Im eligible and you have 30 days to return it so if the Evo 3D comes out within 30 days I will just switch them out and if its gonna be longer than 30 days I will return the Epic and go back to my original Evo. I get bored with phones easy I trade phones with ppl on craigslist all the time and I have had my Evo since the day it came out.
