Show steps offline through a widget?

I'm looking for an app with a widget that can show me my steps without needing to "start" an app.

Any ideas?

The s4 has S health pre-installed. It has a widget for that. Or search the play store for an app

Once you run S Health and set up the walking function you can add the widget to a home screen and it will show your steps. I have found that, although I am seldom without my phone, it doesn't travel with me everywhere. I have opted to use a Fitbit, which you wear and thus goes with you everywhere. It also syncs with Android phones and has widgets available that will show your steps.
