shut off automatic apps

My droid started playing a video automatically without my prompting
in my pocket. It was embarrassing because the video was loud and
the character in the video was shouting profanities. I could not shut it off
there was no stop button visible. I finally got it to stop but it took a while.
How do I find this video so I can delete it , and how can any appplication
start automatically without my prompting. I do not like this feature.
Please help.

I haven't a clue why your video would have started without being opened. The easiest way to delete it would be either to install a file manager or connect your device to your pc via usb. Then browse to the video in question and right click it right off your phone. Welcome to Android Forums. I hope you enjoy your time here.
