shutting down htc desire

hi everytime i try and shut down my htc desire it takes hours anybody any ideas i end up taking the battery out

yes 0n 3 c0ntract it actually took over 8 hours to shut down

I had the same problem until i discovered it was one of the services running in the background that was preventing my phone from shutting down.

In my case it was "battery indicator pro" that was causing the problem,so all i do now is shut down that app before shutting down and now the phone turns off in seconds.

So i suggest you check your running services and see which one is causing the problem,it will probably be an app that you have installed since you got the phone.
