Help Sideload .apk to Prime????

Alright, this is a basic action but I am having a helluva time or a brainfart. I am trying to get my Navionics app onto my prime. Long story short, Navionics changed their app and then was forcing people to buy it again since they "re-arranged" it so I complained and they sent me the .apk via email and then I put it onto my phone. Normally, I right click and then "send to" the "F drive" which is what my phone shows up as...just basically a common storage device. My prime does not show up as a common storage device. It shows up as "Transformer Prime 201" or something like that so it does not show up in the "right click and send menu". Well anyway, if I try and do the "drag and drop" method, as soon as I "hover" the file over the Transformer Prime icon, I get the circle with the slash thru it...IOW, it will not allow me to do it. So how the hell do I get a "sideloaded" app onto the prime....DAMMIT!!!! This should be so simple. Another angle to this question would be "how do I get the Prime to show up as a common storage device"???

Is ASUS preventing us from sideloading apps???? If so, root, here I come although I don't know how I will root if I cannot put things.....uh oh...I think I might have answered my question. Do I need and SD card in the slot for it to show up as a common storage device?????????????

Sideloading apk apps is definitely allowed on TFP. Make sure in security settings that you allow apps to be installed outside of the market. Then you should be able open the apk attachment straight from the email and it should install itself directly after you allow permission.

Thanks. I had all the correct boxes checked. I guess you have to drag and drop into a folder that already exists. I have always used the "right click and send" method. Sure makes it easy. Now I have to drag and drop into a folder that already exists on the prime. It was an .apk so I just went to the file manager and clicked on it and then it asked me if I wanted to install it. And I did and everything is cool. It still doesn't show up as a "Mass storage device" in the "C" drive(My computer) menu for whatever reason.

Another thing that is slightly irritating is that ASUS decided to re-arrange where they put things in the settings menu. Like the "Allow outside apps" is in the "Apps" menu on every single Android device I have owned. It is in the "Security" menu on the Prime.....drives you mad when you are already frustrated with what should be a simple operation.
