Help Signal question for sprint users in NY area with g3

I am wondering if I am the only one having a signal issue. I live in Ny ,westchester county.i have has many sprint phones and the galaxy s 3 seems to have the worst reception. I am on job sites with guys who use boost,metro,they have full service on free phones. I pay 500 out of contract and can't make a call from same area. I actually have used 2 s3s at this point,and realize its the radio in the phone.supervisor has iPhone 4S ,full bars when I can hardly hold one. I am hoping when lte comes to my area signal is improved somehow for this phone. I have turned my photon back on and reception is 100 times better,love the s3 ,but need to have reception. For now,I have a 500 paperweight.
