Help Signal Strength performance

Weird -- I just tested this with a transformer tablet; on the droid if i long press on the connection - the only options are disconnect and disconnect/unpair. I see no option to share data. The phone was set to wifi for the test. It looks like verizon 4g/3g is down again.... i'll update when it comes up (if it ever does).

On the TF there is a wrench icon next to the Razr device in the BT listings. Touch the wrench, then the choice to use for internet connection is under that.

I tried this with my Transformer and Razr. I could get them to pair, and I changed the setting on the TF to get its internet from the Razr, but when I tried to go to a website I got a 'network problem' error (it's just like using Verizon's network :) ).
The Razr is connected to wifi and working fine, so I presume these two devices can't actually work together to do this (it would be nice if someone could prove me wrong on this).
BTW, when I made the TF discoverable and had the Razr search for devices is when they would pair and connect. I first tried it with the Razr discoverable and the TF searching for devices - they would pair but not connect.

Try turning off Wifi on both RAZR and Transformer and use BT only. On the Transformer try again connecting to the RAZR and it should say connect to panu. I've used this with both the Transformer and iPAD 2 and works great. Works with the Bionic too.

That was going to be my next test, but I had to wait for Verizon to get their network back up.
And you're right, that's the fix. Turning wifi off on the Razr (I already had it off on the TF) so that it's on Verizon's network makes this work just fine.

woohoo, a new trick we know! :)

I did that; but it didn't help because I could not set it on the razr side. Per my comment above 4g/3g was down :( The tablet is at the office so I'll try again tomorrow (of course you already confirmed it works - but I want to double check before my trip :) )

The setting is only on the TF side, nothing extra to do on the Razr side.

Seems no such option for the Flyer, View, or Thrive. Bummer.

I wonder if the Prime has the feature? That would help make up for the weak wifi on the Prime.

This is confusing; I wonder why it didn't work; or rather why the razr has to be on 3g for it to work... I was able to set up internet connection on the TF but i couldn't actually access the internet (razr was on wifi). I'll try again in a few hours when i get into the office.

Ok I was able to test this and it worked but was kind of slow; no clue why it does not work when the razr was connected via wifi. It works when connected via either 3g or 4g but speed seemed the same on the tablet.

One thing I could not figure out was how to transfer contacts (when I first go the razr; my dumb phone had an option to send contacts via blue tooth - so transfering contacts to the razr was easy).

Hum ok i figured that out but the interface is kind of sloppy. I have to manually select each contact to send either via email or bluetooth; there is no select all :(

I believe the flyer is running gingerbread; no clue about hte view or thrive. The transformer (and prime) are running honeycomb.
