Help signal strength

so i'm noticing that my droid x is REALLY jumpy with the signal strength. it goes from 4 bars on 3g to 1x service then back to 3g constantly. is anyone else seeing theirs do this? i'm worried i got a bad one here.

You are correct- as far as the bars, but when you check the dBm level, you will find they both have the same signal level. I have tested in weak and strong areas with two X units.

-71 dBm on X = full bars
-71 dBm on Inc = two bars... and sometimes three and four..... crazy

Both were just as fast at streaming HQ Youtube and downloading large market files. They have virtually the same signal strength. Just that Inc devs sucked at writing more accurate bar correlation to signal.

I can see where people may assume the X has better signal- due to the bar perception.
