Help Signal/Text issue with mytouch

Just got my mytouch
and i love it

It's white

But i am having issues with texting
Initially target gave me a north carolina number
which is where i live and my billing address is
However, i go to college in Connecticut
and i wanted a Connecticut number
so i had it changed
Thing is...When i had the 919 number
which is where i am for the today
it was working fine
after changing it.my texting is not working at all.
Surprisingly coverage is decent in my house
but my text are not working at all
Any idea what may be wrong? T-mobile seems a bit "overrated" with their customer service. They are already annoying me on Day 1

It just sounds like a T-Mobile issue?? Maybe go in to a store. Sometimes face to face and hands on with the phone solves a problem quicker.

I figured out it was the sim card

whenever i put in another friends sim card
it worked and mine didn't

but now i have issues with the phone not connecting to the network
i had to do a factory reset but it seems to have alot of issues

go to t-mobile. have them issue you a new simcard, and if they have to, a new number. Your text should work regardless of where youre at. if youre in newyork or in texas, your text should work.
