Significant 2.2 Differences

Hey everyone, FTP, familiar to Android though. I just had a question if anyone could explain the rock solid, hard differences from 2.1 to 2.2 on the Mesmerize. In the sense that are unique to the Mesmerize. I have looked online and on this forums for an answer but they all seem to have different things. I have noticed most of them but wanted to know the in and out of it. Thank you!

I think the only things "unique to the Mesmerize" about 2.1-->2.2 is the Media Hub, changes to Allshare, changes to the WiFi Hotspot, and a couple of modifications to the stock UI.

Everything else is "unique to 2.2"

I figured as much, and has anyone used Media Hub? I hope they don't expect people to pay that much for a video...

I never even opened it. Froze it with Titanium Backup and hid it in my app drawer in LPP as soon as I updated. I'm not a huge fan of bloatware.

I agree, nifty Idea but it is over priced. Apple TV prices ha

i looked at the media hub, i checked a southpark episode was about 3 bucks, a new dvd was around 19, older movies range from like 7-12 but its all around that area, i think its still a bit overpriced but thats an opinion.

2.2 also gives you the ability to choose different fonts that work throughout the entire phone scheme so not just in text messages, you can also go on the market and buy other fonts but the ones they give you are good enough. they give you an "auto rotate" button on the top of your notifications bar for whenevr you bring that down, which is pretty convenient if your laying down and dont want your phone to flip the screen

they also mixed the samsung widgets into the android widgets so now you just have the option of "widgets"

other than that latufu pretty much said it all

Hello what about flash 10.2 thats a pretty big improvement over 2.1. However since the official update the bttry has sucked and my phone keeps freezing and crashing, so I'm not loving the update much.

Have you tried a factory reset of the phone after you updated? (It wipes all of your personal info and apps off the phone, so you definitely need to backup before you do it)

That has helped a lot of people (including me) who had stability issues after updating.

disclaimer: I am running a rooted version of 2.2, and a slightly different build than the "official" USCC release.
