Silencing Notification Tone

N4N01D

Lurker
Hello,

I work as part of an oncall rota and get calls / sms to my phone, I need a long message tone to wake me if its at night. So I've downloaded an annoying ringtone that goes on for 20sec odd.

However when you press the down volume key with an inbound call the ringer will silence, but with a message notification I cant get it to stop the notification tone until I open the message and go back to the inbox.

Anyone any tips before I end up single?

Thanks!!

Welcome N4N01D!
can you link your ringer volume to your notification volume?
I would try to do that on mine but my own "volume settings option" crash at the moment so I cannot check to see if that is possible.:)

Hi,
The two options dont seem to be able to be linked for me. I wonder is it because its the mp3 tone and a standard one?

Have you tried "Turn over to mute/pause"? It's under Settings -> Motion. The manual describes it thus: "Set to mute ringtones, pause media playback, or mute the FM radio when you place the device face down."

Cheers guys, I didnt have the turn over to Mute enabled... this is even better :) takes a split second but does the trick!!
