Help silent mode notification sound

Hi, hope someone can help. When my galaxy note exits silent mode in the morning it makes a 2 tone beep (toggle silent mode on & off to hear).

I don't mind being called 1st thing but I keep odd hours & don't want to be woken up at 8:30 every morning by this sound - anyone know how I can disable it please?

Galaxy note + ICS + timeriffic

Thanks!

From the Home screen, touch Applications > Settings > Sound.
Touch Silent mode. This option silences all audio on the mobile device except for media and alarms. try if that works.

Thanks but the silent mode is working fine. What I'm trying to fix is that the phone makes a sound when it exits silent mode! I need to be contactable in the morning but I don't want to be woken by an alert that tells me my phone has exited silent mode. Some days I'm up at 5, other days 10.

Hope this makes sense? Maybe I can find the mp3 which makes that sound and replace it with a silent mp3 with the same name?

Thanks, I'm not sure if this is a note issue or an ICS one. My galaxy S didn't do this but it never got past gingerbread. If anyone has a note on gingerbread could you please check if it makes this sound?

I get the same sound when I put the phone on charge - can not find a way to disable it or any info on the net?!

I can confirm that the Note running Gingerbread also makes this sound when leaving silent mode. Not really a problem for me as I tend to prefer a manual mode switcher and charge the phone in my home office rather than my bedroom. You could try turning the notification sound down to see if you can sleep through the sound.

If you root of the phone you could hunt down the sound file and replace it with a silent mp3, but I would not do this personally.

Regards,
Eric Ritchie.

Thanks Eric. I'm not too happy about rooting either as I have 2 years warranty and no other reason to do it. Thinking about it though!

The sound is affected by ringtone volume but the volume is automatically part restored on exiting silent mode so without rooting it appears to be impossible to prevent?!

Seems wrong to me that a sophisticated piece of equipment like this can't be persuaded to do something as simple as not making an unwelcome sound - hopefully Samsung will backtrack on this.

Thanks, Phil
