Help Sim card issue for S4

I "adopted" my husband older S4 that works fine when he got a new phone. When I put my brand new sim card in it, the phone would not recognize that there was a sim inserted. I confirmed on another Samsung that the sim works, and the phone worked with the original sim right before I took it out. We are on the same carrier. The carrier's tech had no idea even far multiple reboots still not working. After reinserting the old sim, the phone worked fine. Put the new sim in and nothing. Ideas?

That is odd that the phone detects the old sim but not the new and new sim works fine in other phone. About only thing I could think of to suggest would be to have the Carrier swap the phone numbers between the sims you have. Your husband's number assigned to new sim and your number assigned to old sim that works in S4.
