Help SIM card locked?

I used Cell unlock - Unlock your cellphone. Unlock Nokia, samsung, motorola, sony, htc and many more to get my unlock code. Took them about five tries to get the right code for my phone, but they treated me really well. Cost about $12 when I did it.

Actually, they sent me two codes initially, neither of which worked - I emailed them and they immediately responded sending a refund. Good customer service. But on top of that they also sent three more codes, the last of which worked. I tried to pay them for it again, but they never took my money the second time.

Others probably have varying experiences. After three months, and assuming you are not on a contract, you can get your code directly from Telus, but they'll charge more than $12.

tried sim card in friends phone and it is not locked, so we put a pin in it, but my phone won't unlock it, so its the phone itself, any suggestions?

My advice above was with regard to the phone. Your phone is 'provider locked', meaning, it will only use simcards that are linked to telus. To turn this off, you need to get an unlock code for your phone. The link I posted above is one way to get this code. You can also call Telus - oddly enough - I think they might charge you $50 to unlock the phone, unless you're really good at smooth talking. Claim you're moving to europe or something. :D
