Sim Cloning?

Has anyone tried this? What did they use? I've found something on a site.

I'm not certain why anyone would need a backup sim. I'm fairly certain that cloning a sim in the US is illegal anyway. The failure rate of sim cards are very slim and your provider will fix you up with a new sim with no problems. I can't think of any good reason to have a clone of my sim beyond nefarious reasons. I'm sure that alone enters heavily into it's questionable legality.
