Simple access to an AD card

Samsung Galaxy Mega 19025. Have obtained an adapter for the Micro USB-B to standard USB A Socket. Have another USB A plug to SD card device, therefore can connect a USB card to this lot. Is it possible to see this SD card from the Samsung - or not (can't see it presently) or, does anyone have knowledge of how (if) this could be seen and used for backup, from the Galaxy?NOT looking for other info. only that (if you know). No guessers please.

If your phone has USB OTG support (I take it) and if your obtained adater cable is a USB OTG cable, then you would need a USB card reader for ro read/write on a SD card. The phone would mount the reader (+ SD card) as USB storage.
You would see the SD card on a file manager (like ES File Explorer) as "USB Storage".
