Apps Simple android question

Ive got a menu with a couple of buttons, but i wanna make it so when the user touches the background the ap does something can anyone help me out here?

Any View can implement a View.onClickListener, a Button is just a special kind of view, so you basically set it up the same way.

Also your background is probably a LinearLayout or RelativeLayout, which are also just special kinds of Views
