Root SIMUNLOCK CODE for T-Mobile

Is it possible to unlock the sim lock by rooting or do I need to just purchase a code? Where should I buy a code if that is the case?

Edit: I paid the $2 to get it unlocked. Maybe this just isn't a popular enough phone?

I tried to unlock phone via net (wasted $29 on non-working-random-numbers) and went to several service shops and they couldn't unlock it. Can you PM how or where have you unlocked the phone?
