Siri Dictation vs S-Voice Dictation

Being a heavy iphone 4s business user, I was very much looking foward to switching to the GN2, however was very disappointed to see that S-Voice and cannot even understand basic dictation commands such as full stop (you have to say period even if the UK language is selected). It does not understand new paragraph or new line and is overall nowhere near as good as Siri which understands dictation almost perfectly every time. As such, I have had to switch back to the iphone and use the SN2 as a secondary device. I send many short emails to clients updating them daily and Siri saves me a lot of typing time.

Also the nexus keyboard has a spellchecker built in but the samsung keyboard does not.

I really like the GN2 and want to use it as my primary device but until these issues are sorted I will be sticking to the good old iphone 4s.

Why don't you try using Google Now instead of S-Voice? From the test videos I've seen, Google Now is much faster and seems to know much more than Siri. To generally access Google Now on the GN2, I believe you hold down the home button and select Google Now, press the voice search button, or you can set it to where you can access Google Now from your lock screen. When it comes to voice typing, I'm not sure how you would change the settings; but I would definitely give Google Now a try. From the tests I've seen so far, Google Now>Siri>S-Voice. Jellybean also lets you enable Google's voice typing to work offline. Hope this helps! :)

Thanks for recommendations, I can't seem to activate Google Now. When I hold down the home button all I get is three icons at the bottom of the screen, of which the centre one is a Google logo which when pressed activates the Google search bar. I know you can perform a voice search from here but cannot dictate a proper email by any means. Is the Google Now? I hope not.

Google Now only works on Jelly Bean devices officially. What device do you have?

Ignore my previous post. I can't edit it.

The OP went from GN2 to SN2, but i realize that it was a typo.
