Sirius XM Android App

I suppose if talk were my thing then XM would still be one of my monthly bills but when I discovered Slacker and Pandora, I never looked back. Glad that you XM'ers are getting an app...satrad was my bridge between terrible terrestrial radio and internet radio.

you won't see it for the Eris.

Also, you can't get play by play sports through a stream online since each sport doesn't have a deal with Sirius XM to stream online. Only through their hardware.

Why's that? Just curious what you are basing that on. I'm thinking those Eris with 2.1 loaded should have no problem getting a workaround, no? Are there currently any applications that are available for Droid and not an Eris with 2.1?

Play-By-Play Hockey is the only reason I've kept my subscription this long. I will probably kill it off this summer though. It has turned into a waste of money.

I wish I could find a good app that would play my local sports station, but none of them do.

i hear ya...got rid of my S2 when i got my droid..and just download stern and copy it over...

i'm glad we're finally getting an app though

Well, I had tried RadioTime when I was on 1.5 and it didn't work right for me. THE local station that I was looking for didn't play. I just looked at their site and not only did it list my local station, but it lists just about every other NHL affiliated station out there. They also list some of the XM Home Ice stations, but they don't stream. I was so excited that I rushed to the market to download it. :( No good, not in the market for me on 2.1. Contacted them via the website and they just sent me a link to get it. :D It works really well and I can now listen to all my NHL play by play for free.

They even offer podcasts.

Bye bye XM!

Edit: They also offer comedy stations
Holy crap I love this app!

I emailed Sirius/XM asking if they were supporting Android or just DROID - here's the reply:

The DROID is an Android phone and thus we support it.

Patrick Reilly
Senior Vice President, Communications
SIRIUS XM Radio

Doesn't really clarify anything... lol

EDIT: I emailed him back asking for further clarification: "I understand that the DROID is supported, but it is not clear if ALL Android phones are supported. DROID is a subset of Android phones, not the other way around. Will it work on the HTC Hero, Eris, Evo, Incredible, etc?"

I'll post any response.

I'm a big fan of Opie & Anthony so I was pretty stoked when I heard this, as I am awaiting the arrival of my HTC Incredible. Then I read that it may only be offered on Droid and Nexus One, which worried me. I also read that it will be offered on "Droid and future Android phones".

I am going to be pretty disappointed if, after waited for so long to get an Android phone Sirius/XM finally releases an app that isn't compatible with it.
