sixaxis controller app with non rooted S3

I would like to know if I can use the six-axis controller app on an non rooted S3. I plan to plug my ps3 controller in via USB (so bluetooth connection is not needed). Will I be able to map the touch screen controls this way. Does anyone know? Are there any alternative apps that don't need root access that will let me map touch screen controls to the control pad.

Yes, there are games like Dead Trigger that have built in mapping, so you don't need to be rooted. There is a list of all the games somewhere on here that can use the PS3 controller and not require root.
I personally prefer no wires connected and playing games like Modern Combat 3, which you can not play unless you are rooted and use the sixaxis app to map the buttons correctly.

SixAxis needs root. Some games have native support (Max Payne) do you don't need to map touch input.

Don't know of other apps. Root.
