Sky Go at last!

It is like an app that allows us Brits (maybe USAians) to watch Sky satellite TV. That's movies, sport etc.
All the new phones need time to link into this service, a decoder maybe.

I stiill do not think it will come to the One X yet as the reports do not include the One X due to the HDMI out issues with Sky's broadcasting contracts.

Yep, if you log in with your SkyID (or whatever it's called) and whatever you subscribe to, you can watch on your phone.

Yes, sky sports and sky movies are all included. The sky site confirms that sky go is coming to icecreamsandwich before the end of the month. I presume this includes the one x.

not really.

Unless you have someone in the UK you know that will be willing to let you use a device slot on their sky go account (only 2 devices per household now) and run it though a UK based VPN connection its not going to work.

That's a fairly specific set of circumstances to be in place for it to work and i'm fairly sure it breaks a lot of Sky's terms and conditions doing it this way. If your caught they can probably cut off or fine whoever's account you are using.

Plus you would most likely have to shell out for a 3rd party VPN connection each month so its really not going to be worth it.

Would have been good to get the fights cause we get nothing over here. Only big fights and they're always PPV.

We need HBO, Sho and Sky Sports.

Not if you find someone with Sky who is willing to let you have their code. I have my sisters. I can't afford Sky, but I have it now!

I've just read a spat on sky forum, sky are still holding this service back from us because of the hdmi out, others are wild as hdmi is available with other, cleared, handsets.
Can anyone dig deeper or confirm if we'll ever get skygo?
Ps sky state they are working on disabling HOX hdmi out, allegedly

Isn't there an app that hides root? I found out about it on my rooted s2 but upgraded to ics by then so not sure if it works.

There is one yeah, can't remember the name of the one I saw over at XDA but I did a quick search and found this, doesn't have a great rating though.

Good point, Voodoo OTA Rootkeeper allows you to temp unroot, that might be worth a go. IF we ever see Sky Go, I'll give that a shot.
