Skyfire 2.0

Southparkstudios.com confirmed working aswell, abc. Com fxnetwork. Com fancast. Com and netflix all failed. Netflix might get the fix later as the skyfire techs are most likely instituting the proper plug-in required to play their videos. Maybe the fix for other sites as well. Oh if you want to close the browser hold the back soft key on the phone for few seconds and it should prompt you to exit or cancel and also gives you the option to clear session history like a mozzila firefox browser when you got through these steps, if you want clear all broswing, passwords, and history info just go into setting and privacy you should be able to see the options, the back key is alot easier if you dont need to delete saved passwords. Hope this helps some of you out there.

Hulu is not going to let anything work until the app comes out next month (if on time). Current episodes will be free, $9 a month if you want access to older episodes, etc...

NBC won't work for me either btw...They must have a different flash detection method than the sites that work...

alot of flash vids sites seem to be working but problem im having is that basic browsing and especially playing flash video heats my processor nicely and quickly

So far, the following websites have worked for me...

nbc.com
fox.com
thewb.com

Those that haven't...

cwtv.com
cbs.com

For those of you having issues about websites going into the mobile version, try changing the m. or wap. to www. in the address bar on top. That seemed to work for me.

When I tried Game Trailers I didn't get a video pop up so I thought it wasn't working but when I clicked the video button anyway, the video played. So try that if something doesn't work.

Also I want to confirm that Fox.com worked. I played a Simpsons episode.

EDIT: Anyone find a way to skip ahead in videos?

Yeah i dont have any idea on how to fast forward or rewind the video, hopefully next update they put it in there, because its seems as if it wasn't instituted, unless someone else knows how to do it.

Livestream.com doesn't seem to work

We should consider making a thread regarding to available sites that "will" and will "not" work on skyfire for the mean time, so that everybody has an idea of where to go to watch flash videos before the official flash update is out!

Im enjoying the browser, its quick and responsive, and the full screen view is amazing. Video quality is superb, (example I was watching southpark "cripples camp" on southparkstudio.com and it really brings out the high def look on my moto droid, sound quality is also good, Please note that I played the video on 3g service with about 2 to 3 bars inside 3 story building without a single hitch of lag. Only bummer is stopped the video by accident and couldn't resume from where I left off at.)

nbc.com does work and I was also wondering if anyone found a way to seek forward or backward on videos?

This was mentioned in the Engadget video...There doesn't appear to be any "seeking" as of yet. Hopefully, it will come in a later build (and will be kind of a moot point once 2.2/Flash 10.1 become available...That said, I really like the Browser anyway. If they can clean up the pinch to zoom, and make it work with Flash 10.1, I will probably keep it as my normal browser until the stock Android browser catches up...

I agree, however I thought I saw one in the Apps section, but can't seem to find it now...If not, we should indeed make one...

**EDIT** I tried NBC.com again, and it does indeed work, and in good quality...

The flash video us a pretty nice feature. But the privacy concerns I have will keep me from using it as my main browser anytime soon. I just don't like the idea of my browsing being monitored and that they can use my "personal information" as they see fit.

I might keep it installed to watch an occasional video, but that's about it.

redtube works! :d:d

lol!!!

I've used this browser all day. I started to make a thread for compatible sites but then I quickly realized that most of the sites loaded just fine. AOL Music, VEOH, Pokemonepisodes.org (for my kids) , CastTV , etc. pretty much work.

I'm not sure if I'm ready to replace my default browser but I'll probably use this browser alot.

Question- Since this is web-based, do you think speed will eventually take a dip after everyone starts using Skyfire?

This performs WAY better than the real Flash on Incredible. Though Skyfire is realily converting Flash content, the end result is videos can be played full screen and at the native resolution of the video. Flash Lite 4 is crippled and can not run full screen. You have to pinch zoom the vids, so most look real blocky (since your are basically just zooming part of the web page).

Still makes no sense about Flash Lite 4, since Flash Lite 3.1 DOES allow full screen video.

Just wait for Froyo and Flash.. it's coming very soon! I think it'll provide an amazing multimedia experience.

I agree :) The one issue though will be folks with Inc's, n1's and Evo's will have limited interaction due to no keyboard. Most need keyboard. N900 works great with Flash content.

Just thought about the Droid and that it does not have real arrow keys. Based on my sample of Flash games (253) I play on the N900, about half require arrow keys. Some can actually be mapped before playing, so those should not be an issue.

Is the Droid's d-pad mapped as arrow keys? Not seen an app to test this.

Touchscreeners will have to wait for content to be developed.

The way I understand it is that the android version works differently then the Windows Mobile version.

On Windows Mobile, everything was rendered server side, and the app just acted like a dumb terminal. On android, all the webpages are rendered on the phone itself, but uses Skyfire's servers to push out the flash content.

Love it! Even when the videos don't work it's great to get the internet just like you do on a desktop.
