any hero owners tried skyfire yet? what do you think. I was real excited to try it, but since have reverted back to stock. no multitouch n formats pages a bit goofy.

I like the stock browser, I just tried Skyfire for a few minutes and wasn't overly impressed. Will put it through a more thorough run later and maybe tell a different tale.

One thing I didn't like is it latches on and doesn't shut down when leaving app. I checked via (app mgr) and didn't appreciate the fact it does that. All in all, for right now, I too will stick with the stock browser.

Regards

im going to try it rite now! i didnt know it was out. thanks big homie!

Ging to try it now, it was by far the best browser I've used for Winmo:D

Not ready for primetime yet. I see it's a beta version and flash hasn't ported properly, and pinch doesn't work. It does seem pretty fast at rendering pages and the interface looks nice. I bet it will be great in the final version.

Ok... yeah I used it #1 in WinMo, but its slow here in Android. Too much so. Uninstalled and I'll wait for the alpha version. Used it for a while, don't like it.

Just my humble .02

The only positive for skyfire is flash video rendered server side so you can watch videos on the phone. However, Hulu blocks it and I read that abc.com doesn't work either. So this makes the browser pretty useless to me.

I was stoked for this browser too.. but aside from the fact that its functionally not what I was looking for, its awfully ugly too.. lol

its been running a lot faster than the stock browser...i like it..

cant wait for Fennec to come out though!...i think its only in alpha stages at the moment

Just tried it out for about an hour. I like the concept and I like the look. I couldnt seem to find a home button to take me back to google without using the bookmarks, but maybe I didnt look hard enough.

Had some major page rendering issues with it as well, but I expected some quirkiness from the beta. :) all in all though I was pretty impressed and im looking forward to the final release.

I loved the WinMO version. This one has promise, but until it renders flash elements, it's mostly worthless. Navigating feels clunky and is not intuitive.

Hopefully the final release will fix some of these shortcomings.

I tried to install a release of fennec yesterday. It installed successfully, took up 30mb of space which had to be installed internally. Booted enough for me to almost to somethin.. then force close. shucks. I think it was for the Droid but I figured id try it

I like it a lot. It was fast. I tried it out for a day. It was pretty cool to be able to see all the videos in the pages that they are on. It didn't have to open Flash PLayer or Youtube app. Only problem was that after installing it I started getting random restarts. Only maybe 3 or 4 through out the day but still not a fan of that. After uninstalling it I got no more random restarts.

Lots of FC's. No pinch zoom. Intermittent flash support. Doesn't seem like it's at beta level, more like alpha. It will be interesting when it is finished.

Still needs lots of work done in order to become a fully working browser IMO...it's nice yes..but there's certain features that still missing on it..
