Help Skype Calling (WiFi) & Battery Life

Hey folks,

How well does skype calling over WiFi work for the Wildfire S? Is anyone seeing any problems with it? There were too many problems with the original Wildfire.

Also, I wanted to know about the battery life of this phone if the WiFi's on the whole the time? I've heard it doesn't even last a day. Is this true?

I can't comment on Skype as I haven't tried it yet. But, in terms of battery life, with mine on Wifi all the time and moderate use I get two days out of my Wildfire S.

Ben.

Sorry for hijacking the thread.

I have just got my Wildfire s today and installed skype. Choppy voice on the test call. Was this a problem with the old Wildfire?

I have also now tried Skype on my Wildfire S - what a load of rubbish. Calling is impossible - sound is choppy and cuts out after about five seconds. The Wildfire S may not be the fastest phone around - but how much resource does Skype need to run?!

This was the same problem that was reported by the Wildfire (original) users. I was hoping that because the resolution is different, the app for this one would be different. (There was a separate update to Skype just for the original Wildfire res)
Is everyone facing this problem?

my wildfire S has the same problem, and it doesnt look like skype is gonna do a thing about it. So I guess I payed 20 € for nothing. I'll make sure they get some bad publicity from it if they don't help out. So now I'm looking for a similar setup, any ideas? i'm going to canada on holidays and was planning on using wifi to call with skype, but I'll take a look at voipebuster see what they got

if you want your skype to work well on wildfire s you should install skype version 1..(google for old versions of skype for android and install it) It works with no problem for me all the new versions starting from 2.. have somekind of bug and the voicecall is interupted. If you want to use the new versions turn on the speaker then the conversation goes smoother.
