Skype issues

Hi

I recently had to uninstall Skype from my HTC Inspire for the following reasons...

1) It seemed to slow my phone down.
2) Could not sync/import contacts from my phone.
3) When clicking on a contact on my phone and choosing "Skype" to call or text them, sometimes it would work and other times Skype would just hang at the default screen but never bring the contact up.
4) Asking for password each time Skype is launched.

Anyone else experience this before and are there any tips or tricks to getting this to work?.

Thanks, BB

I don't use Skype much, but I believe it asks for a password every time you run it, is because the only way to stop it from running in the background is to sign out before you close it.

I'm afraid it carries on running even when you have signed out.

A real P.I.T.A.

You have download a separate app like "Skype Stop" to close it fully. It is notoriously buggy on android :(

Bless you Goreygirl!

I didn't want to uninstall Skype but was on the point of freezing it, using Titanium Backup Pro, and defrosting it when I wanted to use it.

However, even with Stop Skype, it still starts running again when rebooted and one needs to remember to use Stop Skype again.

Why on earth, when one signs out, they just cannot stop it running, I don't know.

I can have it log in automatically on the SGS4G, and turn it off with the task manager. You can do the same on Ubuntu and XP. I have it set up so my voice only user can access it.
