Root skype mic

Hi, I have a couple of random questions, most importantly one about Skype working. Which Rom is the best for using Skype video?

I've had my phone rooted for a while now, but was using the rom that was one of the Verizon stock Froyo versions because I didn't really want to go through too many changes at the time I was rooting. Only in the last couple of days have I been experimenting with new roms, and so far I'm liking what I see.

My favorite so far that I'm using is currently using is the [ROM]Unofficial CyanogenMod 7 2.3.7 Builds[Build #12 Live][10/05/2011 12:45 AM EST]

I would like to stay with this one if possible, however on Skype video, the microphone is not working. The issue is only with Skype, as regular phone calls and voice recording will work as intended. Also, the problem exists if I am using a wired headset as well.

I have done some research but basically have not found any fixes for it, I would link some sites but this forum is not letting me link anything due to lack of posts.

What I'm wondering is if this is a problem for everybody or only a select few, or if there is a fix that I could not find? I know in the Froyo version, skype was working fine, except you could only use the back facing camera, which is silly. I tried the BAMF rom, but when using skype there (also google video chat) my video would appear sideways no matter which way I turned. The person I was talking to had a normal orientation, but my video would be turned 90 degrees, and if I tried to turn the camera, it would auto rotate and keep me at 90 degrees no matter which way I turned.

Also, I noticed on BAMF, the google talk application had video chat capabilities, but not the CM7 nightly version I'm currently using. Is there a way to update the google talk I have right now to what is in the BAMF?

Another question is the pulldown menu (the one u pull down the status bar) for my current Rom: is there a way to get recently used applications to be displayed there as well like in the stock version? I tried looking through the settings but was not able to find anything along those lines. Perhaps I overlooked an option?

I am currently using:
Rom: CyanogenMod-7.1.1-ProTekk-Build-12
Kernel version: 2.6.35.13-imoseyon-3.8.0AOSP+
Baseband version: 1.48.00.0906w_1, 0.01.78.0906w_2

Any help is greatly appreciated. Many thanks to everybody.
