Help Skype wont Install after Uninstall: i9000

Mindrage

Lurker
Hello.

I updated my Galaxy S to froyo (2.2) from the Samsung official website.

I've managed to install skype and login, Everything worked fine. But the battery was draining the whole time, So i uninstalled it.
It got uninstalled, But now i cant install it again.
I may have uninstalled while skype was on.

How do i solve this problem?

Have you tried restarting your phone to ensure the original Skype software was completely removed?

Yes, I have done that, It still wont install, I guess some kind of files were busy when trying to uninstall, You cant really remove active files.. But i cant find any trace of Skype on the phone... so registry problem or something like that?

Bump.
I noticed that the battery is still wasting as fast as when sskype was on. I dont have any off the
features or services by skype running or visible.
Is there aby way to check for files that werent completly removed during an installation?

I'm having the same problem, I've tried reinstalling it several times over the past month, and I keep getting a message saying there is insufficient storage. I haven't had any issues installing other apps, and I have plenty of space on my phone. Any suggestions would be much appreciated

I have the same problem with a Samsung Galaxy S & am desperate to reinstall Skype. I did read that when you uninstall it it leaves a 'directory' behind which prevents reinstalling it. Apparantly you can Factory reset your phone to clear it (which is far from convenient) or somehow you can temporarily root it to remove the 'directory' (which doesn't appeal). Does anyone please have any OTHER SOLUTIONS! THANKS
