Help Skype

Keep trying to install Skype on my Samsung Galaxy Ace and either get - phone reboots whilst installing or not enough space/memory to install. Sorry but new to Android and need a little hand holding - I'm a Silver Surfer. Lots of brain but not always in the correct place.

Sorry did say I was new with this phone, how do I tell if mem is full. Checking SD and Phone storage it tells me Total Space 1.84GB - Available Space 1.78GB - Internal Phone Storage Available Space 72.33MB. Should I or could I alter this. Only have a few Apps installed - should I get rid of them? or what.

try this
settings > applications > tick unknown sources...
if that also dosent help then try a factory data reset...
settings > privacy > factory data reset...

do backup imp data before resetting... ex phonebook...
