Anyone using this? I tried Iris, but it's a joke. Not sure if this one is much better. The constant nagging for money is irritating, and there are complaints that donating doesn't get rid of the ads.

What are people's experiences? Is it worth 3 bucks in the hopes it will improve?

Tried both, currently have Iris installed, both appear to be jokes. I suspect I’d feel the same way about Siri, although it is likely a more advanced joke. There’s getting to be a lot of Siri copies over here, one of them will rise to the top.

I settled on Jeannie, even paid for it, which I already regret, lol. It's kinda fun, but for voice recognition and searching the web Dragon Go is the best.

Pesonally I'm sticking with the Google Voice Commands.......haven't seen one of these new assistants (and including Siri) that is as functional really (not that Voice Commands is really all that functional as an assistant but its good for texting, setting the alarm, and occasional navigation - sorta)

^^^ I can't get VA to work efficiently. The video tutorial makes it look so slick, but it doesn't even set up an email or a text properly (the "to: " is placed in the message box). I was able to set an alarm, but only if the alarm tab was already chosen in the Clock app. And the Call function brings up a web search instead of the number of the contact.

Did anyone try Assistant? It got the highest user-rating of any app in this category, so I wonder if it's that good...

I'm checking it out now. First impression is that it's more responsive, more accurate with more natural speech than Jeannie. Downside -- the UI is designed for a 15-year-old.

Can anyone help me? I have a new Nexus 7 (wifi +3G). I need a good hands free texting app. I found several, but none were compatible with Nexus 7. So I downloaded the Skyvi app, which IS compatible, but I can't get it to work. It accepts my request to text, gets the name right, asks me what I want to say, and then it says that it is sent. The only problem is no one ever receives it!
