Sleep time

Anyone figured out how to create more than one sleep time in MOTO ASSIST? Seems we're supposed to go to sleep and get up the same time EVERY DAY INCLUDING WEEKENDS? How dumb is this? I have AGENT but don't like it that much. The others are more complicated than what I need. I just need to set multiple sleep times (silent)...for workdays, weekends, church, holidays, etc. It would be great to find one that puts phone in airplane mode, not just silent, but those have gone away it seems.

Android was changed to prevent third party apps and widgets from putting the phone in airplane mode. That's probably smart - if you lose your phone, you want it to not be in airplane mode, which will prevent something like Android Device Manager from locating, accessing, and locking the phone.

No, Moto Assist does only one programmable sleep period. Llama is a pretty decent app for more discrete sleep time options. Another is Condi - it was once called Mini Tasker, but it is pretty simple to set up tasks like reducing notification volumes based on times, and you can have multiple tasks, like one for Mon-Fri and one for Sat & Sun.

Thanks for recomm. I think a more nefarious ($$$) reason would stand up better but I agree that Android/Google/Carrier/Etc are taking away capability, which sucks for those of us who don't buy in to their overreaching governance. I would like to just have a smartphone again, without all the big brother limits. Airplane mode is...was a good battery saver at night. I'll look at Condi...hopefully it's not too complicated and location dependent (another big brother attribute).

That's got a solution most places ... root your phone and assume responsibility for anything that happens. The Turbo doesn't yet have that ability.

Battery saver at night??? ... low usage ... I measured it twice and got 3 days each time ... very heavy usage (jigsaw puzzles) I got 7 hours each time.

Wait... I thought of another solution.

Moto assist also let's you quiet the phone during meetings. You can either create a recurring event when you usually are sleeping in your normal calendar, or create a new google calendar (called, say, sleep schedule) and use that if you don't want the assist quiet the phone features for your normal calendar events.

I second Doogald's nomination of Llama. I've tried Tasker (overkill for the minor assignments I have in mine). Llama lets me silence my phone at different times on weekends, while letting crucial contacts call me. And it silences the phone when I get to my Tuesday meeting location (by geography). And it keeps the phone unlocked at home. Not hard, once you get the hang of it.

Yes, Motorola's night mode is pretty stupid.
