Help Slight delay when returning to Home Screen??

When you goto the about phone section under settings or even an email app or anything for that matter, then press the home button once, is there a slight(mili second or so) delay in exiting the menu or is it just mine? iv never noticed this before until i dropped my phone today on carpet, i hope this is normal and my phone aint broken..can someone please check 4 me? 10 points best answer :)

You need to relax. Do you know what a "mili second" or two is?

You phone is fine and there ARE some very short delays going from screen to screen under some conditions. Overall your SG2 is WAY faster than 99.9% of the devices out there.

Its called "home screen lag" if you do a search there are a few topics about it. Its down to the voice talk app. If you press the home button twice it launches the voice app. Basically the lag is due to your phone waiting to see if you press the home button a second time.

ok.. odd.. mine doesnt do that??

I have a little delay but nothing that would worry me and it does not look like lag. I am using GoLauncher so I have some effects though.

The OP is just worried that he has hurt his device when it fell to the carpeted floor. I am betting that it has always had this delay and he just did not notice until he dropped the phone and started looking for a defect.

What about voice talk? Do you have the LTE version?

I dont know. I get confused with all the different kinds of google voice stuff. all I know is my microphone works and I can talk into text on my phone right out of the box stock.

and yes its LTE

I've not tried installing jkay deluxe settings on a non rooted or stock ROM, but one of the options in the settings is to disable this home button double press even if you have all the voice apps installed. The double press of the home button starts the voice recognition app and the lag is due to the system pausing a moment to see if a double click is about to occur.

You may not have Voice talk installed on the LTE version and therefore do not suffer from the slight lag.
