Help Slow Camera Speed

Hello!
My camera takes a long time to take a picture when I press the button. I've researched a fix, and everybody says to turn off image stabilization. The problem though is that my camera has no such option. According to various sites, this option is in the top row under settings. If you look at my screenshot, you will notice I don't have this option.

Any ideas?

Slide that image UP, for more items to select from.

I have these turned off, each of them help quite a bit, especially the 'sound'

  • Sound ( helps a bit )
  • Review Pix ( helps a ton )
  • Effects ( tried it once, took too much time, did not like the effect )
  • HDR ( another wasted feature, I don't do portraits )
  • Face ( don't like the way it delays the 'click' to take the pix )
  • Burst ( um, obvious, but useful sometimes )
  • Auto Zoom
  • Flash ( this one has a huge effect on delay, if you don't believe it, Turn OFF Flash , then turn ON flashlight before you open camera, then take a picture. The shorter time is immense ) I never use AutoFlash. It is a joke, takes way too long to get a good picture, and you cannot preview how the pix will look.... ie, reflected spots of light ) do it my way, and be happy.
Oh, one more item, subject to your pix requirements.
I have the resolution set to the lowest mode, 2048. this helped a "tiny bit"....
Why? 99% of all the pix I take end up on forums, and no forum can give you better than about 800 pix resolution "inside the screen" of the monitor or laptop screen.

anything bigger than that, and the viewer has to scroll the page up/dn and sideways.
so, what good is that?

the end result of all of the above together at once:
extremely noticable. When I 1st got my Galaxy S5, I was very unhappy with the camera.
Folks would move before I could get their picture.

Not anymore, I get their picture before they are aware that I am going to do it.
especially with the Sound turned OFF.

Well we need to know a few things. Like phone model. A lower end phone model will have a slower CPU and thus takes more time taking pictures. Also, a lower end phone will not have certain settings available. Not all options available on an S6 will appear on a J1 for instance. Plus, even if you have a sufficiently high end phone, not all settings will be the same. Samsung replaced the stock Android camera with their own, so they have a lot of settings not available on say, a Nexus.

Second, is what the previous poster said. Have you tried scrolling the menu?

Edit:

That's not the settings menu you are looking at. That's the shortcuts chooser. You need to go to camera settings.
