Help Slow download with screen off

Anyone notice slow download when you turn off the screen while content is still downloading? I've noticed that download speed is severely reduced when I turn off the screen. I wonder if this is a battery saving feature of this phone/sense.

Yeah HTC built in WiFi and data management that auto turns off WiFi and 3g. There is no way to turn this feature off either

I should've clarified that this is over wifi. It keeps the wifi connection on (enabled in setting) during sleep, but the wifi download speed seems really reduced.

I've noticed this when streaming spotify, it'll play for a minute, cut, then reconnect a minute later. Even tried juice defender w/ screen off enabled, still happened. Anyone having trouble streaming with screen off?

I use adownloader alot with the screen off using 4g, dont notice it at all. When I do the same with 3g, or wifi, it drops like a rock...tubemate aswell..

Yeah, downloading podcast or even play store apps slow to a crawl when I have the phone screen off on wifi. I think it's a "brilliant" power saving idea from HTC.

Do you guys have an option in advanced wifi to enable "best wi-fi performance"?
That'll resolve this issue, although at the expense of battery.

Thanks. I figured that was what it was for, but I've read terrible battery life with that option enabled. I never had battery issues downloading with screen off on my Opt V, iPhones, or iPads so no reason they should limit that to save battery.
