Help Slow internet speeds?

When i first bought the phone i was getting great speeds, i downloaded a 80mb file in around 10 minutes. Everywhere i went i got great speeds, well the past week i been getting dial-up speeds i download 2.34mb and it took about 7 and half minutes. Last night for the first time i tethered and the software said download speeds around 48.06kbs-76.80kbs. But on his laptop he was getting 5.6kbs i also download a speedtest software it said 100kbs. I don't know if its cm6 or i click on the button but why im i getting really slow speeds?

It sounds like you're being throttled.On your computer, go to www.mycricket.com & log in to your account.Look @ your data usage,I bet you've used more than 1GB since your last billing cycle started.Once your next billing cycle starts,I'm sure your d/l speeds will increase back to what you had previously.
BTW,to increase overall speed/performance,you might want to d/l the following apps:

1) SD SPEED INCREASE (FREE)
2) MASQED CRUSADER (FREE TRIAL),$4.99 after trial expires.

I'm on MetroPCS but I've read that with Cricket once you've passed 1Gb or so in a billing cycle they'll throttle your bandwidth down to prevent you from using it "excessively". Its more than likely in the TOS somewhere on their website for reference.
 
one80bysummer1 is correct.There are no additional charges for using more than 1GB/mo. & regarding the TOS/FAIR USE POLICY.

My experience has been once reaching the 1GB/MO.,throttling starts & seems to be most severe between the hours of 6PM & 12AM,'RUSH HOUR',if you will,& seems to speed back up a bit in the 'Night Owl' hours.

I've also heard from others that don't experience throttling at all,regardless of the amount of 3G data usage.I suspect this is all relative to the amount of bandwidth availability/activity @ any given time in your coverage area.

You won't be billed for anything extra,trust me.I've been using 3GB+ a month since I've had my ASCEND,no extra fees.Best way to conserve data usage is to turn off background data when it is not necessary to have it on,like during charging or prolonged non-use/need of background data services,ie: while sleeping or @ work.Or while sleeping AT WORK! ;)
 
There is no true unlimited on Cricket. They get away with calling it unlimited because they don't charge you extra and they don't cut you off, they just slow you down. T mobile is doing the same thing, but at least they give you 2gb instead of 1. I think Sprint is the only carrier left with no cap and no throttle. That is also why I am thinking about switching to Sprint. Of course, Cricket is cheaper, so I guess you get what you pay for. I just wish they would let you buy an extra 1gb for $10 through flex bucket or something. The unthrottled 3g on Cricket is actually pretty fast.
 
if your a rooted user dl hisurfing it has great tools that overall increase my speed an create a new apn an dont add the proxy part all this wks for me

Pardon MOÍ for being a 'TD' {TECH DEE-DE-DEE},but,with that said,perhaps a brief walk-thru/how to w/this app {HI SURFING} is in order,w/an explaination on how this will increase data speeds.

seem like that app monitors your data from the looks of it,,,but idk...

That's all I got out of it myself,perhaps that alone could be useful to those who are curious about data usage.Do you see anything that could actually IMPROVE data speeds?
 
metro has unlimited everything but no 3g network, they decided to skip 3g and jump right on 4g...It sucks i know but at least im not on a contract no more....

this app alows to change detting evdo only an create new apns to allow to conect to a closer tower just play around it an also u can disable apps using ur data wich will help conserve data an not leeding u closer to ur data cap
