Root Slow Room

I've been using Taboonay's ICS... have decided I want to flash the ICS bootloader, as I know the devs will eventually stop supporting the HC one and am watching the CM9 thread on XDA to see when it will be out of Alpha and will be flashing that... what about you?

Using Thors Tegraowners ICS rom v169. Loving it so far. Much more responsive than stock! Can't seem to get any themes to work tho.

I've not had the chance to flash the ICS bootloader, but have just put this ROM on my A500 and am VERY happy with it. Before, with the tablet unplugged (but not doing anything), my battery would only last 10hrs... I left it unplugged yesterday all day and then came home and played a few games and was still on 50% power by the time I went to bed!

Im on Thors 169 -
Will switch up bootloaders when needed.

Keeping with thor until cm9 is functioning...then will give that a go.
Wife has an asus on cm9...thing is ZIPPY!

Was using Thors, but I decided to go onto the official update, loving it, wish the A500 was more popular though.

I had been using Thor's 169 too.

Hey Cat, I see you're a Guide now! Congrats! :)

Thanks Brahdah!~

Hopefully it lasts! HAHA -
Have jumped to 170 no issues.

Tried the Beats MOD on XDA - Caused issues.
No go for now.

Don't know where my head was. I did upgrade to 170 because it was supposed to address the USB Mass Storage (USM) issue (for me it did not fully work out). But I am on v170 now (edited above post to correct that). For the time being I am using Cheetah Sync to back up the files I used to copy with USM weekly when I was able to do that with Honeycomb. I may decide I actually like Cheetah Sync better, because it does incremental backups and only copies files that are new or changed, so it's quicker to implement than the "easy way out" method of just copying the whole Internal Storage and SD card for a backup I had been using. I'm looking forward to trying it on my pre-ordered Galaxy S III when it gets here.

I am seeing Beats Audio mentioned in a lot of new device advertising, but I admit I don't know anything about it. Call me old school, but I like music players that play from folders and playlists and don't try to arrange my tunes 'for me' using meta-data. Those drive me nuts.

The beats Mod is just a sound mod.
Doesn't affect the player...basically a modifed DSP manager
with some beats Lib files.

Apparently works well on come CM9 Devices....just not on Thor 170 yet.

Ah. I see. Some of the players with those kinds of equalizer mods do a surprising job of coaxing some decent sound out of these tiny little devices.
