Slow screen keyboard??

I know there are many talks of multi-touch on the Droid, and I don't doubt it's existence but does anyone else notice that the touch screen keyboard is really slow?

For example, I'll try to type something really fast and it'll only catch about 60% of what I type, which makes everything gibberish. It can't keep up. Not that I type extremely fast or anything. I can also see the keys I press popping up to let me know what letter I'm pressing but it still doesn't read it at times. Anyone else experiencing this??

I've noticed this more and more as I get faster w/ the on-screen keyboard. It can't keep up with me at all and it makes texting pretty frustrating because I can type about 2x as fast as it can record.

It's even worse when posting on a forum like this one...

My first Droid did not lag on the keyboard, but I had to return it because the voice calls were really bad.
My new driod lags really bad and verizon tech said that the (known) problem will be fixed with the upcoming firmware update.

Mine is only slow when typing within web sites, for example forum posts
