Slow startup htc Desire

I got a Desire last week, and read that it takes ten seconds to startup, mine took over 1 minute, how do you speed this up?

Enable fast boot.

Also the boot time is like 5sec which is crazy but I do suspect its false as its not full cold boot I am guessing as it could be some type of hibernation thus never fully shut the phone down. So when user starts it all it does is fast boot and recover it from NAND.

Still relevant, though. I thought "smartphones" would be quick to boot. Mine takes about two minutes, slower than my 4-year-old Nokia 6300, who incidentally was fast before.

Au Contraire.

A 4 year old Nokia has almost 0 functionality above being a "phone" so boots quick. Its OS is light as it can't do much, ergo places no load on the CPU or RAM. In fact the CPU is only 236Mhz. Can you remember how far back in time it was when PC's were that powerful? Thats Pentium 1 power.

Smartphones are much more like computers. They are not stupidly powered for no reason. They have to be this powerful to run the Android OS as it is extremely functional and extremely complicated. It loads up like a PC. In fact Android is based heavily on Linux which IS a PC operating system.

The Desire is 1Ghz CPU. Thats Pentium 4 power. Newer smartphones are dual core, which is current PC power. Of course they work slightly differently and are more efficient for their use.

But yeah, put that Nokia 6300 OS on the desire, it would boot instantly. Much faster than the Nokia could boot it. Put Android on the Nokia, It would take an hour to boot... if not a week
