Slowering the Network

Hallo to everybody,
a week ago I moved in a new house starting living with new people and, on what they have said, till my arrive the internet wifi net was working good. I have a Samsung Galaxy Pocket, an ASUS 700 transformer (both with android) and an ASUS F55A with ubuntu installed. All the devices have worked good alone and all together with other networks. The net has a 6,9 mbit/sec in download, and 732 kbit/sec in upload.
The point is that from my arriving the internet is getting very slow for all the computers and a lot of times my laptop gets disconnected and reconnected and some other times it can't manage to reconnect for more than 5 minutes. I entered the router and I saw that it was really also navigate in the router settings when my mobile was connected to the net, but on the other side even though it is not connected the wifi net is really fuzzy. Usually the 2 android device seem they work better than the laptops.

I don't really understand how to manage to find what is the problem.

Thanks a lot to everybody.

Welcome to Android Forums.

What carrier are you using?

What you describe could be caused by a problem in the carrier's tiwer servicing your house. You could talk to other users and see if they had the same problem. You could ask the carrier.

Hello and welcome to Android forums. :)

First thing I would do is shut off/power down/unplug all your devices and then reboot the router. If there is still a problem, then your Android devices/laptop aren't the problem. It could just be a coincidence that the router began to fail when you showed up.

Or, since adding those devices will increase the data usage, is it possible that your arrival put the network over some sort of data cap and the provider has throttled the account? I'd also look at IP assignments and see if there are any conflicts on the local network. That will cause all sorts of connectivity issues for the devices trying to use the same IP's.
