My Atrix 2 is very smooth when operating on battery, however as soon as I plug it in to a wall outlet, it becomes sluggish. The menus barely respond, making the phone nearly unusable. Anyone else ever have this problem?

Some non-Motorola charging cords do not work as well, and will not allow any action on the touch screen. Get an Atrix 2-specific cord, and the issue should go away.

Thanks this worked! Tried a new cord and it works fine now, although the original cord was a Motorola cord too...weird.
