Small Android tablets. Need some advice

Hi,

Alright, So recently. I've been looking at 7-inch tablets. I'd always liked the idea, but now, i figured why not?

It's the first time i've looked at getting a tablet. And admittedly, some of the competition is very, very close at times. My budget is £250 max (A little low, but yeah, i don't get paid enough). So far i've looked a lot at the 2 following tablets.

Nexus 7 (2013) - It's still a respectably speedy tablet, and with Google, you get all the fun with none of the crapware. But the lack of a MicroSD slot card is kinda crap

Hudl2 - I was initially against this one (Tesco? Doing tablets? REALLY?!). But apparently, a few reviews have claimed it to be a decent 8-inch tablet, you just gotta remove the Tesco crapware first.

A half-decent battery life is a good addon, but i have a power-bank at home, so it's livable without. But i do need it to be big enough to watch videos on, and read notes. I don't intend to do hardcore tablet gaming, but it'd be nice to run a few time-killers. I don't intend to root until warranty has expired too, just as a note.

Any advice on which tablet to pick, or if you know of a better one, just lemme know?

Thanks, Vesper

I'm biased as I have 2 working N7's (two were lost to droppage:() and you can't go wrong IMO. Even my 2012 is already updated to lollipop. Brand new its priced right in your wheelhouse.

Edit: Moved with permanant redirect here in device / carrier comparisons.

Go for a better brand name device if you decide you really want a tablet with a microsd card. Samsungs tend to be pretty expensive for their specs in general in the lower spectrum of tablets, so I suggest looking at offerings from Lenovo, ASUS, Acer and LG.
