"If you want to baffle your TeaBag friends tell them: 1. If there is no demand for goods and services, companies will not hire anyone, they will only hire when they cannot possibly squeeze their existing workforce harder to meet demand. 2. With the present tax breaks, companies are making higher profit margins with less materials overhead and labor investment. Without the tax breaks, they would have incentive to spend on upgrading their facilities, buying new machinery etc so they can write that off on thier taxes. 3. Spending money on facilities creates jobs. People with jobs buy stuff, companies build more stuff to sell, stores have more business, hire more people. WHAT IS SO HARD TO UNDERSTAND!
You can try, maybe it will get through to some of them. The rest of them will just spit and sputter like you are talking quantum physics to a duck."
